Ways to Give

Your generosity directly fuels lifesaving cancer care, pioneering research, and community prevention programs at the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center. Below you will find the many avenues through which you can partner with us to advance hope and healing.

Online Contributions

The fastest and most convenient method is a secure credit- or debit-card donation through our encrypted giving portal. Once you complete the form, an electronic receipt suitable for tax records is delivered to your inbox within minutes.

2

Monthly Sustainers

Automatic recurring gifts provide steady, predictable funding that allows us to plan research studies and patient-support services with confidence. After selecting the “make this a monthly gift” option, your card will be charged on the same day each month until you decide to modify or cancel.

3

Checks and Bank Transfers

If you prefer an offline transaction, mail a check payable to “Friends of KFSYSCC” to 6 Liberty Square #9052, Boston, MA 02109. For domestic or international wire instructions, please email giving@friendsofkfsyscc.org and a member of our finance team will respond with the appropriate routing details and a reference code to ensure accurate acknowledgement.

4

Gifts of Securities

Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual-fund shares can unlock significant tax advantages: you may receive a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value and potentially avoid capital-gains tax. Notify us of the impending transfer so that we can match incoming shares to your record and issue a receipt reflecting the average market price on the day the assets reach our brokerage account.

5

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

Recommending a grant from your Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or other DAF is quick and fee-efficient. Simply search “Friends of KFSYSCC” in your provider’s directory, indicate the amount, and include our EIN to guarantee proper delivery.

6

Corporate Matching Gifts

Thousands of employers match employee donations to qualified nonprofits. After you give, submit the match form through your company’s HR or CSR portal; most programs double—or even triple—your impact at no additional cost to you.

7

Legacy and Planned Giving

A bequest in your will, a beneficiary designation on a retirement account or life-insurance policy, or a charitable remainder trust can secure the future of world-class cancer care while potentially reducing estate taxes. Our development staff can provide sample language and work with your advisors to structure a plan that aligns with your philanthropic goals.

8

Endowments and Named Funds

Leadership-level gifts can establish permanent endowments or fund specific initiatives such as a research fellowship, a patient-support program, or a laboratory suite. Naming opportunities are available in consultation with our executive team to honor your family, company, or loved ones.

9

In-Kind and Volunteer Contributions

Beyond financial support, we welcome professional expertise—ranging from graphic design to data analytics—as well as pro-bono legal or accounting services, auction items for events, and other tangible resources. Please contact us to discuss how your skills or products can advance our mission.
